Grant Writing

 Farm to School Initiative

College of Charleston

June 20, 2017

Background

The College of Charleston Farm-to-School Initiative is a program designed to educate youth on how to eat healthy, and grow their own foods. The Program is localized, catering specifically to the Charleston, Berkely, and Dorchester County areas. For more information about the CofC Farm-to-School initiative, follow the website below.

Proposal

The project was a collaborative grant proposal that I got the chance to edit and submit during my summer internship with Denice Ciccareli, head of the grant writing department at the College. The main source of Funding for the program came from Boeing, which is. a multinational American corporation that manufactures, designs, and sells airplanes, satellites, and other products worldwide. This grant proposal was presented to the Boeing Company as a letter of intent, which I oversaw during the editing process. The pdf can be viewed below.

Flyer

Usually, when a company awards a grant, there is some sort of flyer/informational brochure created, so that the company is able to how their money was disbursed. Dominion is a festival, also, funded heavily by Boeing, that raises money to donate to other programs associated with College of Charleston. These programs include the Farm-to-School initiative, and the expansion of the STEM-program. Below is a pdf of the flyer I created.
